Days 1–4: Paris – The Urban Adventure

Kick off your trip in the French capital. Instead of trying to check off every single museum in 48 hours, give yourself permission to live like a local.
Expert Tip: Do not rent a car yet! Navigating Parisian traffic and paying for city parking is a logistical nightmare. Enjoy the city entirely on foot and via the metro, and only pick up your rental vehicle on the morning you head out to the countryside.
The Experience: Spend your mornings wandering through the historic Marais district, cross the Seine on historic bridges, and watch the world go by from a classic Parisian café terrace. Dedicate a day to the masterpieces at the Louvre or Musée d’Orsay, and catch the sunset from Montmartre.
Days 5–7: The Loire Valley – Fairytale Castles

Pick up your car, leave the city behind, and drive south-west into the lush Loire Valley—the former playground of French kings and queens.
Expert Tip: Choose a central base town like Amboise to minimize driving. It keeps your mornings relaxed and puts wonderful local bistros right on your doorstep for dinner.
The Experience: This region feels straight out of a storybook. You will spend your days exploring architectural masterpieces like the majestic Château de Chambord or the romantic Château de Chenonceau spanning the Cher river. In the late afternoon, wind down by visiting local vineyards to taste crisp Loire Valley whites.

Days 8–11: Normandy – Deep History & Rolling Greenery

Drive north toward the rich, emotionally resonant landscapes of Normandy.
Expert Tip: Don’t rush through the history. Give yourself a slower pace here to fully absorb the significance of the sites, interspersed with cozy stops for local cheeses and ciders.
The Experience: This leg of the trip is deeply moving. Spend time walking along the historic D-Day Landing Beaches, visiting the American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer, and exploring the peaceful inland bocage (hedgerow-lined fields) that hold so many stories of the past.

Days 12–13: The Côte Fleurie – Coastal Elegance

Wrap up your driving tour along the stunning Normandy coastline, affectionately known as the « Flowered Coast. »
Expert Tip: Indulge in a fresh seafood dinner paired with a glass of local artisanal cider before you begin heading back toward the capital.
The Experience: Trade historical battlefields for picturesque harbor towns. Wander through Honfleur, a gorgeous port that inspired impressionist painters with its slate-roofed houses and bustling art scene. Afterward, take a leisurely stroll along the famous wooden boardwalks (les planches) of elegant Deauville.
Day 14: The Grand Return

Make your easy drive back to Paris (roughly 2.5 hours from the coast), drop off your rental vehicle, pick up a last box of macarons, and catch your flight home with a camera full of unforgettable memories.

I have lived all over France — I moved my whole life, and every corner of it turned out to be its own place. Travelling once, I met people who were only going to see Paris, and I felt frustrated on their behalf. There is so much more. That is where Journeasy France came from.
